• Conduct follow-up sessions at the local level
  that focus on middle-level education.
• Review and revise the 1989 Regents Policy
  Statement on Middle-Level Education and Schools
  with Middle-Level Grades.
• Review and revise Commissioners Regulations
  (e.g., Section 100.4).

• Identify and document effective middle-level
  practices and programs, especially those related
  to curriculum and instruction, Academic
  Intervention Services (AIS), personal
  development, and drop-out prevention.
• Disseminate effective middle-level practices and
  programs.

• Create a Statewide Network of Middle-Level
  Education Support Schools.
• Devise new strategies to develop and recruit
  quality middle-level teachers and leaders.
• Establish networks of interagency partnerships
  that foster academic achievement and positive
  youth development in the middle grades.
