  • Share what we are doing at one middle school in
    Montgomery County, Maryland, to make science come
    alive!
  • Explain how I integrate reading, writing,
    mathematics and technology into my elective
    science courses
  • Discuss the joys and challenges of using
    integrating technology into classrooms

Unique Opportunities at PMMS
  • Two science courses per year
  • High school level science course in 8th grade

  • Purpose to introduce conceptual information for
    daily topic/indicators
  • Use of multi-sensory information may be
    demonstration, video clip from BrainPop or
    UnitedStreaming, lab activity, use of PB and
    activoters
  • Give directions for station activities

  • use Sun Spotters and telescope wth solar filter
    to observe the sun
  • Use online resources from NASA that allow
    students to view real-time data from sun

  • Using various types of data along with capture
    sheets, students create Space Weather Report
    for week
  • Using software, students create podcast of Space
    Weather Report
