- Other five parts of the STAR (not discussed in
todays presentation) - California Alternate Performance Assessment
(CAPA) - Developed as an alternate assessment for
students who have significant cognitive
disabilities and cannot take the CSTs even with
accommodations or modifications. - California Modified Assessment (CMA)
- The CMA is a new grade-level assessment for
students who have an individualized education
program (IEP), are receiving grade-level
instruction, and, even with interventions, will
not achieve grade level proficiency within the
year covered by the students IEP. - California Achievement Tests, Sixth Edition
(CAT/6 Survey) - Nationally norm-referenced achievement tests,
given in grades three and seven only, that
measure general academic knowledge and provide
national comparisons. - Standards-based Tests in Spanish (STS)
- Developed for Spanish-speaking English learners
and measure the achievement of state content
standards in reading-language arts and
mathematics in Spanish (for grades two seven in
2008). - Aprenda, La prueba de logros en español, Tercera
edición (Aprenda 3) A nationally norm-referenced
achievement test of general academic knowledge in
Spanish for Spanish-speaking English learners
(for grades eight through eleven in 2008).

- Ensure Proper Diet and Adequate Rest Before
Testing - Help Their Child Understand Teachers Behaviors

During and After Testing - Avoid Stressful or Emotional Situations in the
Home, if possible
