• Legislation passed that
• Provided a three-tiered licensure system for all
  educators
• Funded a mentoring program for all educators
  during the first three years
• Mandated 90-clock hours of professional
  development to maintain the license
• Streamlined the certification for school leaders
  to three administrative certificates and made it
  easier for school leaders from other states to
  become licensed and certified in Delaware

  are accountable for student learning. Focus on
  developing teacher leaders. Partner with other
  states where successful models have been
  implemented and collaborate with business leaders
  to provide examples of successful models of
  distributed leadership that could be replicated
  in the educational environment.

GOALS FOR SAELP II

• Build a pool of aspiring school leaders by first
  identifying potential school leaders and
  providing professional development and a
  statewide Model Internship Program for School
  Leaders that focuses on leadership for learning.
  A particular focus will be on middle and
  secondary school aspiring school leaders. Work
  with universities and districts to develop the
  aspiring school leadership program.

  their School Leader Preparation Programs as a

  existing programs.
