Assumption of Risk
  • Individuals are highly encouraged to have a
    physical examination and obtain adequate health
    and accident insurance prior to participation in
    University recreation activities. Individuals
    that participate in University recreation
    activities will be doing so at their own risk.
    James Madison University does not provide
    insurance and is not responsible for any injury
    that may occur to individuals participating in
    any University recreation activity.
    Participation is on a strictly voluntary basis.

Eligibility
  • Eligibility Requirements
  • Undergraduate Must be enrolled in 7 or more
    hours.
  • Graduate Must be enrolled in 6 or more hours.
  • Any undergrad or graduate enrolled in less than 7
    or 6 hours will be required to pay a recreation
    fee in order to participate in the program.
  • Sport Club Members Maximum of 2 per team
  • NO SPORT CLUB MEMBERS IN LEVEL 1
  • NO Varsity athletes can compete in their own
    sport.

Playing On Two Teams
  • You may play on 1 Co-Rec and 1 Mens/Womens Team
  • YOU MAY NOT PLAY on two (2) Mens or two (2)
    Womens teams, this includes Fraternity/Sorority
    teams
  • Questions/Clarification?

Free Agents
  • Any in the meeting?
  • Add to team tonight
  • Email me if you need players during the season.

Forfeit Bond
  • Forfeit Bond is 20.00 on Flex paid at the
    Captains Meeting
  • If you do not forfeit then the bond is returned
    in full two weeks after the season is complete.
  • If your team forfeits then you lose your money.
  • Request to Cancel or Opt Not to Play 24 hours in
    advanced does not constitute a forfeit.

NIRSA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament
  • Hosted by The University of Virginia
  • March 2-4, 2007
  • First weekend of spring break
  • All Mens and Womens teams are eligible to enter
  • Entrance Fee is 215 per team due February 16
  • Winner of Mens/Womens Divisions gets paid entry
    to the NIRSA National Tournament

Where are games played?
  • 5 on 5 Basketball
  • UREC Main Gym Courts 3 and 4
  • Godwin Gym Courts 1,2,3
  • In the event of inclement weather such as rain or
    snow please do not wear wet shoes into either
    gym. Please bring a second set of shoes to wear
    on the courts

Sportsmanship
  • Scale from 0-4 Four being best possible
    sportsmanship rating.
  • A team must have a 3.0 average or better
    sportsmanship rating during the regular season to
    be eligible for the playoffs.

Discipline Procedures
  • Below Acceptable rating (lt2.9) will have to meet
    the following day with the Greg Corack or Bob
    Golson to discuss their rating.
  • Ejections and Suspensions
  • Ejected participants will be suspended from
    participating in intramural competition for a
    minimum of 1 game.

Playoff Meeting
  • Playoff meeting will take place Thursday,
    February 15 at 4pm/7pm
  • Any member of your team can attend this meeting
    as your representative
  • Failure to attend this meeting and sign your
    roster will result in loss of your forfeit bond

  • You Must Pay your 20 Forfeit Bond today. If
    your team does not pay by 845PM tonight your team
    will be dropped from the league.
  • IT MUST BE PAID ON FLEX
  • 845PM is the last call
