    Native American/Alaskan Native or in combination
    with other races.
  • This GREW 3.3 from April 2000-July 2003
  • A significant shift when US Census provided
    opportunity to claim Bi-Racial in the official
    census.
  • Estimates are 17 of the population (1 in 6) are
    Native American Heritage (50 Million People)

  • 57 of Native Americans make their homes in
    metropolitan areas.
  • 24 of Native Americans age 16-24 work in
    management and professional occupations.
  • 20 live in poverty, not 80 as often portrayed

  • Casino Profits are creating quality health care,
    public services, and education for the first time
    in our communities.
  • There are 34 Tribal Colleges and an Increasing
    number of opportunities.
  • Harvard and Dartmouth were originally chartered
    to Educate Indians.
  • 75 Of Native Americans have a high school
    diploma, 14 over 25 years old have a bachelors,
    3.7 have advanced degrees.

    opportunity, and a bright future.
