Pathfinders

• Web-based guides to selected resources on
  countries, sectors and other topics of interest
  to World Bank and IMF staff
• Include news sources, dynamic JOLIS searches,
  electronic journals, statistical resources,
  selected Web sites, and key databases
• Produced by research staff of the Joint Library,
  SITRC and the IFC Library

Pathfinder Production and Maintenance

• Templates created for each page of the
  pathfinders
• Instructions provided for creating dynamic
  searches
• Changes to pathfinders reflect new sources of
  information, database changes (additions,
  deletions, different coverage), and new delivery
  mechanisms.
• Revisions to pathfinders compiled quarterly
• Research staff work with Web workers to carry out
  changes.

• The Best of the Web Links that point to
  current, authoritative sources that have been
  selected and reviewed by research librarians
• Three broad categories Quick Reference,
  Regional Information, Resource Resources
• Annotations for all sites

• Web-based information on current, timely topics
  that are in the news
• Content types include selected Web sites with
  annotations, canned JOLIS searches, and searches
  of popular databases such as Proquest.
• Examples
• Biographies of Bank and Fund staff, Nobel
  laureates and famous economists
• Afghanistan and human rights
• Money laundering
• Financial architecture

Sectoral and Regional Newsletters

• E-mail alerts sent to Bank and Fund staff who
  work in the sectors and thematic groups and in
  area departments
• Newsletters offer abstracts of new books,
  articles, Web sites, conferences and Bank and
  Fund working papers.
• Automated subscription service through Lyris
  software
• Some newsletters published and archived on the Web

E-Statistics Web Site

• Library Network Web page will be a single point
  for access to statistical sources that are
  cataloged in JOLIS
• Selected sources that are produced by the World
  Bank, the IMF and other international
  organizations
• Used OCLC CORC software to create, edit and
  export records from the statistical Web sites to
  JOLIS
• Access by sector, region and country
