  • Cohabitation Presidential Parliamentary
    (semi-presidential) system - Executive divided
    between president and prime minister of different
    parties.
  • Divided government Unitary executive and
    legislature controlled by different political
    parties.
  • For the forseeable future, divided government is
    the best bet for preserving both the letter and
