Goals

• Leveraging UCLA student volunteers and Heal the
  Bays field crew personnel to enhance the stream
  and riparian habitat along Stone Canyon Creek.
• Create a cost effective restoration project that
  promotes future restoration on UCLAs campus and
  upstream.

Restoration Monitoring

• Create distinct vegetation plots using stakes to
  denote the outside perimeter of each plot.
• Use GPS to denote the area and type of each
  exotic and /or invasive vegetation.
• Photograph area (vegetation plots) before and
  after vegetation restoration activities.
• Track the required number of hours needed to
  remove and revisit each vegetation plot.
• Track the number and types of plants installed in
  each vegetation plot.
• Calculate the success of these plantings.
