Science Club

• will meet Wednesday, Oct 29th, after school until
  420 in room 217. See Miss Stewart in room 213,
  or Mr. Hague in room 217 if you plan to attend.

• Picture retake day is this Thursday, Oct 30th in
  the media center   Any student needing to have
  their picture taken should report to the media
  center after reporting to their guide room.  The
  photographer will only be in the building till
  1030.

• will continue meeting Monday and Thursday until

Attention Drama Club Members!

• The 2008-2009 theater season is about to begin!
  All students grades 6-8 interested in acting or
  backstage work should come to the drama clubs
  1st informational meeting on Wednesday, October
  29th in Room 206 from 3-320. If you have any
  questions see Ms. McHale.

Spartan Spirit week is coming soon!

• Spartan Spirit week is coming soon. Prepare
  yourself and your guide room to show your school
  spirit. Spirit week is November 12th-14th.

Student Council update

• Last week, Student Council held the first meeting
  for the year. Congratulations and Thank You to
  the 6th graders they had 100 attendance at
  their meeting. There were several 7th 8th grade
  guide rooms that were not represented which means
  that there are several guide rooms that do not
  know about the after school contest this year for
  Spirit Week called Pins Rims. Pins Rims
  is a team competition for prizes for 6 members of
  each guide room. Team is competing to win a prize
  for the entire guide room. Each guide room that
  wants to participate needs to register their team
  by Friday October 31st. Extra registration forms
  are on the counter of the main office. If your
  guide room was not represented at the meeting you
  may want to pick up a form and register.

  traditions

Friday Night Ski Club

• Sign up to hit the slopes with your friends on
  Friday nights in January February with the Ski
  Club.
• THE EARLY PRICE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO
  NOVEMBER 15th!!!
• Information sheets are in the Main Office, and if
  you have any further questions, see Mr. Baker in
  room 105

• Have you volunteered in the community over the
  past year?  Interested in the possibility of
  winning 1,000 and a trip to Washington DC? 
  Apply for the Prudential Spirit of Community
  Award today!  Applications and additional
  information available through the guidance
  office.  Deadline is Oct 31st.

Do you want to give back to the community?  If
you are 13 years or older, Junior Volunteer
experiences are available in the Glens Falls
Hospital for you.  There is a 2 hour orientation
at the end of October.  An interview will need to
be scheduled in advance.  See your counselor with
any questions.  Students who are interested
should pick up a pamphlet in the Counseling
Center.  Make a difference in the lives of
others!!!
