Photography Unit operations - Involvement in development of joint GU/QUT
Nightline after hours Helpdesk service

- Discussion re merging of university Helpdesks
- Helped develop University submission to panel
conducting review of Online teaching within QUT - Chaired the OLT (Online Learning Teaching
Steering Committee) - Chaired the Distinguished Teaching Awards
Committee and negotiated QUT nominations for AAUT
(Australian Awards for University Teaching) - Negotiated on levels of dial-in computer support
for students and staff

- Involvement in Working Party establishing Generic
Teaching Attributes for Academic staff - Began re-establishment of a TALSS intranet (which
grew to a complete review of the TALSS web
presence) - Began development of a TALSS Communication and
Promotion Strategy - Arranged implementation of Health Safety Audit
and staff induction program

- Expanded set of contacts, especially within
faculties (Asst Deans, T L especially) - Broader understanding of university teaching and
learning priorities and processes, into which
Library can integrate - Opportunity to broker an expanded role for
librarians in the teaching and learning process,
eg - active support for Teaching Fellows
- Increased learning support roles
orientation/academic literacy etc - Acquisition of and website access to teaching
development resources - Librarian interaction with instructional
designers in the development of the Online
Learning Teaching System

- Closer interaction with the Open Learning Unit in
support of external students - Strengthen relationships between Library Systems
and SSS on management of student laboratories
within library buildings - General advancement of the concept of Divisional
partnerships.
