What is web 2.0?

• Sometimes referred to as the Read-Write Web,
  Web 2.0 implies a more interactive and
  collaborative use of the Internet. Web 2.0
  describes a trend in our use of the Internet
  which has enhanced information sharing,
  creativity, communication and especially
  collaboration among its users.

Classroom possibilities

• The classroom possibilities are limited only
  by the imagination of the educator. Basically, we
  are gradually incorporating a few such tools
  (blogs, wikis and others) to add to our Northside
  students repertoire of extensive technology
  applications to enhance their learning
  experiences.

Does technology help?

• Research posted on the ISTE Website, CARET,
  shows a great improvement and enhancement in
  student achievement when technology is part of
  the student learning experience Center for
  Applied Research in Educational Technology

Classroom blogs

• Blogs, short for web logs are an online,
  chronological listing of Internet links and
  commentary. Blogging is now a widely respected
  vehicle for commentary on various topics, and as
  such it provides educators with a great tool for
  eliciting student responses opinions,
  evaluations, comparisons, etc.

• Digital video is increasingly popular, and may
  be accomplished with a variety of tools,
  including PhotoStory, MovieMaker, Premiere, or
  Final Cut Pro, to name a few. Products may
  include digital storytelling, public service
  announcements, etc.
