6- It is paramount that youth how technology affects
them, and how they can cultivate and mold their
own thoughts and skills to fit into this new
global economy. - For Cyberspace (and being a Cyborg), is not a
notion about things to come it is embedded
within the material condition of many things
already at work today. (Patrick Fitzsimons,
2000)

- A Cyborg is a cybernetic organism, a hybrid of
machine and organism, a creature of social
reality as well as a creature of fiction. Social
reality is lived social relations, our most
important political construction, a
world-changing fiction. - By the late twentieth century, our time, a
mythic time, we are all chimeras, theorized and
fabricated hybrids of machine and organism in
short, we are Cyborgs. The Cyborg is our
ontology it gives us our politics. The Cyborg
is a condensed image of both imagination and
material reality, the two join centers
structuring any possibility of historical
transformation - (Haraway, 1985, pp. 65-66)

- By Daniel To

20I wish that I could get away, From the busyness
this world holds And take a little vacation, In
my rustic, arcane fold! In this place, I could
breathe clean air, Because its been purified
- By the electronic static system The best that
money can buy.

21Back to the basics, thats what I want, No more
2.5 Megahertz for me! In this down to earth,
rustic condo, Its only a Pentium 3. On this
little hiatus of mine, I would like time to
reflect, I dont really want to be bothered, Im
not ready for that yet.

22So, Ill turn on all 3 voice mails, And leave the
cell at home, But in case of an emergency,
Id Better leave on the satellite phone. Of
course, what to do with email? I cannot be
disturbed this time. Yet, I cannot overload my
inbox. Oh well, this exceptions not a crime.

23In terms of entertainment, I must tear down to
the core Even though I run the great risk Of
really being bored. I guess Ill have to live
without My collection of DVDs, And survive with
the digital cable, Thats on the only 2 available
TVs.

24No, no! I cant! Its all too much! I cant drop
down as far as this! No amount of rest or
relaxation Can be worth all these comfort
risks! Oh, I wish that I could get away, From
the busyness this world holds, And take a little
vacation, In my rustic, arcane fold.
