Student Organizations Website

• Making finding, contacting, and learning about
  student groups on campus easier.
• Worked with OSAF to ensure the new and up coming
  site would include a search option for students,
  club meeting times, etc.
• Also ensured the streamlining for student groups
  to update their own information
• The website will hopefully be completely
  re-designed by the end of next semester.
• Were off the hook technically but were still
  going to remain involved in the process

Student Advertising

• Worked with Jordan to create efficient
  advertising on the Plaza
• Use of large painted panels that can be used by
  student groups to advertise their events

Political Awareness

• Worked to incorporate information on local
  politics into the Freshman Orientation Program
  and hopefully set a precedent for political
  awareness of Duke students
• Implement a Meet your Representatives Forum
• This will be a community forum, not just
  restricted to students

Into the City

• Worked with the community service center to
  evaluate the into the city program
• Scheduled a community service fair directly
  following the event to promote continued
  involvement in the sites just visited
• Resolution for today

Admins Office Hours

• Making Deans and other important adult leaders on
  campus more available to students
• A website is currently being designed with their
  preferred way to get in contact with the admins
  on campus.
• If we found admins way of meeting with students
  inconvenient or inefficient we requested that
  they set aside specific office hours

Faculty-Student Day

• A day of activities, food, and fun that will
  promote faculty-student student interactions by
  means of sport competitions, music, etc.
• Gauged faculty interest through a poll
• The event will be focused around a womens game
  and take place next semester.
• Collaboration with the Inferno, DUU, and Campus
  Council

Parking

• Changing the parking permit options for off
  campus students
• Allows off campus students to buy either a Red or
  Blue pass depending on the campus they visit the
  most

DSG-Students Connection

• Identified (with the help of the diversity
  survey) the student organizations DSG senators
  are involved with
• Remember the announcement at the middle of the
  semester
• During the first few weeks of next semester (so
  the returning Juniors would be reached) senators
  will be assigned to speak with different student
  groups about DSG, how to reach us, solicit their
  suggestions, etc.

NCCU

• Bus route to NCCU for academic and
  community-service purposes
• Planning for a Week of opportunities for students
  to interact with NCCU in fun and easy ways
• Evaluated what students want to see in that week
• Leadership Dinner

Housing

• Working with Residential life to increase
  positive interactions with housekeeping staff
• Posting of photos and bios of housekeeping that
  works in each building
• Working with CC to ensure RAs are holding an
  event that allows students to meet the house
  keeping staff
• Related to Duke Excellence Team goals.more next
  semester.

Annual Events

• MLK day evaluation. Student committee on MLK day
  stuff. Hopefully incorporating more Durham school
  children in the event
• Young Trustee evaluation and changing of bylaws
• ICC QEP project, etc

Getting long

• For more of the small things weve worked on this
  year and the goals for next semester see the DSG
  website!
• We will need two new CI senators next semester
  preferably Juniors or Seniors so please reach out
  to those you know to apply!
