Rationale for Life Story Work

• Young People in Care have complex histories and
  experiences
• Identifies both positive and negative events
• Develops a sense of identity
• Improves Relationships
• Triseliotis (1983, in Fahlberg 1998)
• Three important areas which contribute to
  identity building in adolescence 1 to have a
  childhood experience of feeling wanted and loved.
  2 to have knowledge about ones own personal
  history. 3 the experience of being perceived by
  others as a worthwhile person. With Life story
  work we can contribute significantly to at least
  two of these three goals.

Reviewing the project

• I thought it was going to be really boring and
  that I wouldnt like it. But then once we started
  it was kinda fun because we went on trips to go
  and see my family and I found that fun.
