• To provide an overview of my ideas for WENCH and
  to receive feedback and criticisms from my peers
  and faculty advisors.

• Purpose
• To create an autonomous pool-side food service
  robot.
• Behaviors
• Waits at base station to be supplied.
• Roams about the pool in search of its master.
• Delivers items and returns to base station.
• Detects and avoids obstacles in its path along
  the way.

• Design Goals
• Construction of an airboat platform.
• DC Motor control using Mega128 and independent
  motor controller board.
• Integration of sensor suite with letATWork II
  board.

Sensors

• Sonar
• For long-range target acquisition and short-range
  object avoidance.
• Pyrosensor
• Used in conjunction with sonar to determine
  proximity to people.
• IR/Pressure sensor
• To determine the presence of food.

• To receive simple commands while in operation.

• Microprocessor Board
• Purchased and received LetATWork II board.
• Used CodeVision AVR to write simple test code
  (Night Rider).
• Sensors
• Began writing code to interface Devantech SRF04
  Ultrasonic Ranger with letATWork II board using
  internal timers.

• Currently researching and testing different d.c.
  motors for possible use.
• Placed orders for push props from Tower Hobbies.

• Ordered balsa wood.
• Began laying out design in AutoCad.
