• Government Printing Office (GPO) and Federal
  Depository Library Program (FDLP).
• Why does it exist?
• The Federal Depository Library Program exists to
  make federal government information accessible to
  the public.
• Often theyre the only source of information on a
  researched topic.
• How was it created? When?
• Title 44 United States Code (1860)
• Creation of the Government Printing Office (GPO)
• Printing Act of 1895
• Established the Federal Depository Library
  Program (FDLP)
• Electronic Information Access Enhancement Act of
  1993
• Creation of GPO Access developing an electronic
  FDLP

• Since 1958, Library has been part of the FDLP.
  
• Receives approximately 25 of the material made
  available through the Federal Depository System.

• In 1994, became an official depository for all
  state of Oklahoma depository documents.
