Reflections on ARM05

• Today 12 papers were presented, topics presented
  varied quite a bit in terms of scope and kind of
  applications
• Interestingly, none of the paper took advanced or
  investigated Reflective Techniques
• The word MOP was not cited a single time
  quite astonishing for a workshop that has
  Reflective in its title
• At the same time the term reified was used into
  two presentations ?
• Paper presented seamed mostly to take advantage
  of basic meta-programming mechanisms provided by
  some platforms, such as Interceptors, but not
  much more

Reflections on ARM05

• Some papers relied on Reflective Platforms, such
  as OpenORB, and OpenCOM, but it is not clear how
  they leveraged from the provided reflective
  capabilities
• Are OpenCOM-like platforms enough?
• Quite a few papers addressed the issue of
  adaptive behaviour these papers did not (fully)
  exploit reflection. How should we read this
  message?
• Interestingly, most of the submission which
  targeted distributed middleware platforms were
  related to C/CORBA
• At the same time, most of the commercial world is
  moving toward other platforms, mostly based on
  J2EE and EJB, not to mention Web Services
• Perhaps other emerging and interesting platforms
  should be considered
