EXECUTIVE BRANCH
The Executive Branch is responsible for carrying
out the laws and appointing
people to head departments.

LEGISLATIVE BRANCH

• Makes the laws
• Called Congress in United States
• Two houses The Senate and the House of
  Representatives
• Called General Assembly in Maryland

JUDICIAL BRANCH

• Inteprets the laws and rules on the
  constitutionality of laws
• Highest court is the Supreme Court of the U.S.
  includes lower federal courts
• Maryland State courts for MD laws and state
  issues
• Baltimore County courts for county laws and
  disputes
