    building
  • Interdisciplinary Care- Three or more .. who
    communicate/meet regularly to establish
    collaboratively-developed care plans for their
    patients
  • Integrative Care-Team care that includes CAM
    (complementary/altern.) health professions

  • May reduce patient costs (reduces repetition of
    services)
  • Improves patient outcomes
  • Improves inter-professional communication
  • Increases patient satisfaction
  • Improves quality of care
  • Increases provider accountability

  • Expands patient care options to include less
    invasive, more natural care choices
  • Enhances communication/collaboration btw
    traditional (allopathic) and non-traditional
    (chiropractic/others) healthcare providers
  • May decrease costs by preventing
    expensive/invasive interventions (I.e surgery)

  • Increase quality and options for supportive

    THEN more invasive services, only as needed

  • A money-making scheme
  • A way to expand allowable billing options
  • A way to rationalize unnecessary tests/services
  • An MD controlling services to all other
    participating health providers on the team

  • Respect for other health professions
  • Good collaborative/communication skills
  • Knowledge of the role, training, and scope of
    other health professions
  • Philosophical maturity Ability to remain true to
    ones own professional philosophy, while being
    respectful of others philosophies!
  • Well-trained staff!!!
