Problem Statement

• What is the best way to reconstruct 3d models
  from antique stereo pairs?

• Compare different methods of 3D reconstruction of
  images. Evaluation benchmark images and visual
  evaluation.
• Birchfield/Tomasi method (on stereo pairs)
• SVM method (on single image),
• Our own method using SVM to improve the
  Birchfield/Tomasi results

Current Status and Plans

• We have written the code to implement SVM on
  single images and output a 3D model.
• We are finishing up implementing
  Birchfield/Tomasi with some of our own additional
  algorithms (SIFT, clustering)
• We need to combine SVM and Birchfield/Tomasi
  (planar verification)
