- HPA axis is stimulated (hypothalamus, pituitary,

releasing Hormone (CRH), which - Leads to increased levels of Adrenocorticotropic
hormone (ACTH), which - Leads to increase production of Cortisol
(catabolic hormone)

day, irregular patterns.
