Application Process
  • RegX on-line application
  • Fees
  • Application Fee
  • 35 for NATA member (60 for non-NATA member)
  • Current exam fees 275 all 3 parts 190 1 part,
    235 2 parts
  • Through April 2007 exam
  • Sign up for all three parts at once (cheaper),
    but may be able to take exam sections on
    different days
  • Effective June 2007
  • First time candidates - 275
  • Retake candidates - 235

  • Official transcript AFTER graduation
  • Official transcripts MUST be in a university
    sealed envelope NOT opened by the student
  • Official transcripts MUST have the degree date
    of degree posted

  • Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) Certification
  • Must include the following
  • Adult Pediatric CPR
  • Airway Obstruction
  • 2nd Rescuer CPR
  • AEC Barrier Device (e.g. pocket mask, bag valve
    mask)
  • Must submit to BOC
  • Copy of front back of card (must be signed)

Current Exam Day
  • Beginning Nov. 2006 Written Written Simulation
    are administered via computer during a 2 week
    testing window at ACT testing centers
  • Last two Practical Exams January 28, 2007
    April 22, 2007
  • April 2007 exam window will be the FINAL BOC exam
    administered in sections
  • After the April 2007 exam, ALL candidates will
    take a SINGLE 4 hour integrated exam administered
    via computer

  • Written Simulation section 2½ hours
  • Exam ticket Photo ID

  • Practical exam given at site on the Sunday at
    the end of the 2 week testing window
  • Exam Ticket Photo ID
  • Dont wear clothing that says where you are from
  • Dress business casual DONT LOOK LIKE A THUG!
  • Bring at least 2 pencils, a picture ID (not
    Student ID), registration ticket
  • Be prepared to wait up to 4 hours as you will be
    called out of room
  • You can bring something to do thats quiet.
    Electronic Devices are Strictly Prohibited during
    the waiting period as well as during the exam.

The Exam Written Simulation
  • Scenarios
  • Consists of athletic training related situations
    designed to approximate real-life decision making
    and evaluates athletic trainers' ability to
    resolve cases similar to those they might
    encounter in actual practice

The Exam - Practical
  • Tests you on your psychomotor skills
  • Escorted to the exam room by the model
  • You will be given 2 exam answer sheets to bring
    with you
  • 2 examiners for scoring purposes
  • Scored based only on your first demonstration of
    the problem presented to you, not on what you say
  • Will move around to see what you are doing
  • Once you have completed a problem, they may
    review/inspect your demonstration (e.g.
    application of equipment)
  • Hands-on applications from all domains

Test Results
  • Results will be sent to you within 2-4 weeks from
    the last day of the exam window.
  • You will receive an e-mail confirmation and a
    written letter of your results.
  • If you pass all 3 portions then you become a
    certified AT
  • If you dont pass all 3 portion, you are allowed
    to retake the portions you didnt pass
  • If you a section left after April 2007, you will
    retake entire new exam
