  • The Math TAKS test will be given on April 27,
    2010.

12
Reading and Math Benchmark Tests
  • Kind of like a TAKS pretest
  • Are taken throughout the year, in Math and
    Reading
  • Are great tools for teachers to see how each
student is progressing in both Math and Reading
    skills.
  • Reading and Math Benchmark Tests are a guide and
planning tool for teachers to find the areas that
each child excels and struggles and use that
    information to plan our instruction.

13
Lunch
  • Students go to lunch at various times. Lunch
time information is included in your childs
schedule, so that you know specifically when your
    child eats lunch.
  • You may come to the school to eat lunch with your
child. You must sign in at the front desk and
    wear a name badge.
  • You are not allowed to bring food for other
    children.

14
Nurse/Medication
  • If your child has a medical condition or medical
need, please make sure that you have spoken with
the school nurse and the teacher about it.
  • Also, please inform your teacher if your child is
    required to take medication.
  • If your child is required to take medication
during the day, the medication MUST be taken to
the Nurses office with a note from a doctor
about usage. No medicine is allowed into the
    classroom at any time.
  • Any kind of over the counter meds must be sealed
    when brought to the nurse.

15
Birthday Celebrations
  • If you would like to bring cup cakes/cookies to
the school for your childs birthday, please feel
free to do so! All treats must be store bought
    not homemade.
  • We cannot, however, celebrate until the last 45
minutes of the school day, the last Friday of
    each month.
  • Parents are more than welcome to celebrate with
us but please remember to set up a time with your
childs teacher to make sure that everything is
ok for that day and time.

16
Student Information
  • It is VERY important that your childs teacher
has current parent/guardian phone numbers and
    addresses for your child.
  • If we do not have current information, it is hard
to communicate with you. If something changes,
just send your childs teacher a note with the
    new information on it.
