Major Guideline Revisions for the Audit
  • All delivery requirements are left to the school
so there will be no mandates regarding the
amount of class time, schedule, double periods,
    etc.
  • Only a syllabus will be submitted not sample
    exams or assignments
  • The College Board will provide guidelines for
what curricular requirements should be included
in a syllabus and will provide an online template
to help teachers who do not have a syllabus.

6
Audit Guideline Revisions
  • If a school does not have a teacher in place for
a planned AP course, the principal can request
    Provisional Authorization
  • After this first year, a new Audit form and
syllabus must only be submitted if (a) there is a
new teacher for the course, (b) if the school
adds a new AP course, (c) when the AP Course
Description and AP Exam change dramatically

7
Syllabus Review
  • Syllabus corroborates what you indicated is
occurring in the classroom on the AP Course Audit
    form
  • Syllabus evaluating criteria will be made public
  • Each Curricular Requirement must be clearly
    evidenced on the syllabus
  • Reviewers will be selected from among
    college/university professors and recently
retired AP teachers, thereby ensuring the
    continued validity of the process
  • Reviewers will judge whether the syllabus
    reflects the Curricular Requirements identified
on the subject-specific AP Course Audit forms.

8
Information for Schools
  • Each school will have a password-protected
course audit status page online. This site will
provide the status of materials submitted. It
will also provide the approval status. Once
materials are approved, the school can download
and print the license directly from the site.
