Title: Study Limitations
1Study Limitations
- Secondary data given to us by BES
- Limited amounts of data
- Sampling error
- Not enough data available to answer desired
questions
2Summary of Results
- Flow Data
- Soil Samples Residential/Commercial Vs.
Industrial - Soil Samples 12th Ave Green Street Vs. All other
facilities
3Possible Reasons for Patterns and Trends Observed
- 12th Ave facility appears to have a capacity of
around 3550 gallons. - Higher levels of industrial facility
contamination may be due to limited amounts of
data or to a point or non point source. - Mercury in the 12th Ave. facility may be also be
due to a point source. - More research is needed.
4Future Research
- Need to continue data collection to obtain a
longitudinal data set - Long term function?
- Potential pollutant sinks?
- Are the current simulation methods valid for
assessing functionality?
5What can you do?
- Be informed
- Minimize impervious surfaces
- Create a rain garden
- Keep contaminants out of stormwater drains
- Use green gardening methods
- Disconnect your down spout
