1. Collect goggles, Bunsen, mat, gauze, tripod,
   stopwatch and beaker.
2. Put on the goggles and check your hair and
   clothing for safety.
3. Set the heating apparatus up safely but do not
   light the Bunsen.
4. Put some ice into the beaker.
5. Describe what you can see in the beaker in your
   book.
6. Put the beaker safely onto the gauze.
7. Light the Bunsen and start the stopwatch.
8. Note down what you see in the beaker every minute
   for 5 minutes as it is heated.
