The Eastern Penn Junior Bucks provide players
with an opportunity to continue to advance their
hockey ambitions and compete in an environment
that stresses the importance of skill
development, team building, and leadership. We
highly value the importance of continued
education and focus our goals to provide
advancement opportunity for each and every player
toward collegiate level hockey.
Our coaching staff is committed to the
development of each player's skill, team play and
career guidance. Our team professionals are
experienced in managing, training and promoting
players to higher levels of hockey. We ensure
that our players receive quality player-coach
interaction by always being available to assist
and guide players as they make decisions
regarding their careers. The coaching staff
teaches teamwork and team play and the value of
working hard in the best interest of the team. We
teach our players not only good hockey
principles, but also everyday life lessons for
their development and maturity.
4Player Team Exposure The Junior Bucks fields
an A team that competes in the America East
Hockey League. The team plays a diverse schedule
of league and non-league games which includes
tournaments and exhibition games against college
JV and ACHA opponents to maximize the players
exposure to more than 30 colleges within a three
hour radius of our home rink. In addition to
college, many Junior scouts attend our games and
showcases creating upward movement and greater
visibility. Coverage of individual player
skills, abilities, and accomplishments are also
highlighted in various means such as monthly
articles in Junior Hockey Magazines, AEHL League
Website, and local newspapers.

Program Highlights Our program consists of
both rigorous and demanding On-Ice and Off-Ice
training. Pre-Season on-ice and conditioning
training is held in the form of a pre-season camp
with 3 to 4 hours per day of on-ice work and 1
hour of off ice speed, agility, strength, and
flexibility exercises. During the season we
practice on-ice a minimum of 3 times per week as
well as daily off-ice conditioning with games
typically on weekends. Dry-land sessions are
generally before or after ice practice with
workouts consisting of hockey specific plyometric
exercises, anaerobic training, core muscle and
strength program, and flexibility program. The
coaching staff prides itself in providing
well-designed practices that enhance the players
opportunity to improve skill and strategic play.
Our program provides 4 hours of weekly on-ice
practice adding up to more than 100 hours of
practice ice time per season.
6Games The Junior Bucks play a 50 to 60 game
schedule of diverse opponents. This schedule
includes a 48 game league schedule in the America
East Hockey League (AEHL). Non-league and college
JV exhibition games as well as showcases and
tournaments make up the full season. Team
Facilities The team utilizes the professional
strength and conditioning workout facilities of
their home rink in Northeast Philadelphia. Equip
ment and Uniforms The Junior Bucks provide each
player with the use of home and away jerseys,
pant shell, and helmet for the season. Each
player also receives a practice jersey, game
socks, and warm-up suit.

Player Safety - Emergency Medical Technicians
are contracted for allAEHL games. The Junior
Bucks organization provide EMTs to all home games
including non-league games as well. Player
Promotion and Exposure for Advancement
Supporting the primary goal to advance players
into collegiate and higher level hockey programs
players are promoted through various media and
exposure methods. Written articles and stats are
included in Monthly Junior Hockey magazines, AEHL
website, and player local newspapers. Plans are
being put into place to webcast ALL AEHL games
for greater scouting opportunities. Player
Recruitment - Players are recruited through
various methods such as Junior Showcases and
tournaments, Junior A transfers, Junior C and
B Affiliations, Tier I Youth AAA Tier II AA
Playoffs Tournaments, Scouting Reports and
Recruitments, college team affiliations, as well
as Open Tryout Events. Player Retention - The
Goals and objectives of the Eastern Penn Jr Bucks
are geared more for player movement into higher
level ice hockey and collegiate play. Thus,
players are expected to be with the Junior Bucks
A team for approximately a year or two.

AEHL is one of the Elite Junior A Programs on
the East Coast. The AEHL is competing for
players with other Junior A leagues throughout
the United States and Canada. The AEHL is near
completing its first season and what a wonderful
success this season has been. Many players have
already been heavily scouted and recruited by
colleges and other Junior teams. The Junior
Bucks are proud to provide the hockey fans of
Eastern Pennsylvania the opportunity to watch
Junior A ice hockey at its best.
