Radiologic Technician
Following high school I plan to attend NSU for
two years and then train at a hospital like
Avera in Sioux Falls for another two years.

Day to Day

• On a normal day I observed mostly all chest
  x-rays for in-patients.
• On a special occasion I observed a CT scan,
  ultrasound or a mammograms from the hospitals
  outreach providers.
• I was able to assist the technicians in preparing
  for x-rays, centering patients, taking x-rays,
  and inputting information.

My Internship Hours

• I interned from 830-1000 during my TAP and
  study hall.
• I interned a total of 90 hours.
• I was able to observe several different types of
  x-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds and mammograms.

Skills for Radiology
Writing- Theres several forms of paper work
after every x-ray. Organized- Theres a lot of
information that cant get inputted wrong.
Social- Good relations with patients and
co-workers
Responsibility- Getting all correct paper work
sent to the correct personal on time Teamwork-
Work with patients, doctors, and other
radiologists for a positive outcome.

What I learned

• Radiology has several different branches and I
  can specialize in any specific area.
• Theres a lot of paperwork but it helps a
  technician to remain organized.
• In a hospital setting all the divisions of
  radiology work together for the same objective.
• A patient can refuse taking an x-ray.

• I will continue to pursue Radiologic Technology
  because its a challenging but a rewarding career
  that allows me to help people in need.
