Program Guidelines
  • Sons and Daughters with Destiny
  • 2008 Summer Youth Academy
  • Application forms and the Application Fee of 60
    are due by April 21, 2008 and must be mailed to
    Destiny Family Services, 4355 J Cobb Parkway,
    Suite 162, Atlanta, GA 30339.
  • Applications must be signed by a parent or legal
    guardian to be considered into this program. It
    is recommended that each applicant submit one (1)
    letter of recommendation. This letter of
    reference may come from a teacher, counselor,
    school administrator, church administrator,
    pastor, etc.
  • Parents and Youths will be interviewed before
    accepted in the program. Interviews will begin
    on April 1, 2008.
  • Accepted participants will be notified upon
    receipt of their application form and interview.
    Once accepted, program fees will be accepted as
    follows May 1, 2008 - 150 and June 9, 2008 -
    150. (Please note that we are accepting a
    limited number of youths into this program). If
    assistance is needed with the program fee, the
    parent should contact our office at 678-920-1119
    to make arrangements for these fees to be paid.
    (Limited scholarships are available and on a
    first come first served basis).
  • Checks or money orders should be made payable to
    Destiny Family Services. Several parent sessions
    will be held with parents prior to the beginning
    of the Academy. Details about these sessions will
    be give at a later date. An orientation session
    will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at
    Atlanta Christian College at 1000 AM. Parents
    and youths must attend this orientation session.
  • Applicants must be actively attending middle or
    high school (grades 7-12 or ages 13-18).
  • Due to the nature of these workshops and
    commitments from our facilitators, participants
    are allowed one (1) excused absence (unless other
    absences are known and approved of before the
    academy begins). Students must be prompt to all
    classes and activities.

  • 2008 Summer Youth Academy
  • The Sons and Daughters with Destiny Youth Academy
    will be held at Atlanta Christian College. They
    are located at 2605 Ben Hill Road, East Point,
    Georgia, 30344.
  • Participants of the Sons and Daughters with
    Destiny Summer Youth Academy are expected to
    conduct themselves as young ladies and young men
    at all times.
  • Proper attire is casual. Inappropriate attire is
    as follows
  • Sagging pants
  • Short shorts, dresses or skirts
  • Torn Clothing
  • Tops where the stomachs are showing
  • T-Shirts with Negative Wording
  • Breakfast and Lunch while on campus will be
    provided by Atlanta Christian College. Fees for
    food service is included in your program fee.
  • It is the responsibility of each parent to ensure
    that their child has transportation to and from
    Atlanta Christian College. Transportation from
    the academy to all extra-curricular activities is
    provided by Destiny Family Services.

  • The Sons and Daughters with Destiny Youth Academy
    will begin on Monday, June 23, 2008 through
    Friday, August 1, 2008. These sessions will be
    held Monday Friday from 900 AM 300 PM.
  • The Registration Fee of 60 is non-refundable
    and includes the following
  • Program Materials and Workshop Supplies
  • 6 Week Leadership and Social Etiquette Training
    Related to the Following Topics
  • Communication Skills
  • Leadership Development
  • The Arts
  • Teambuilding Exercises
  • Relationship Building
  • Self-Esteem
  • Sex and Abstinence
  • Basic Social Etiquette and Grooming
  • Admission to all Extra-Curricular Activities and
    Community Service Projects.
  • Transportation to all outside activities
