• Figures suggest an unmet need for new home

Overarching Goals

• Include reference to AFDs and land-use taxation
• Work with Newport News waterworks to develop and
  implement watershed protection standards for land
  proximate to reservoirs

Transportation Goals

• Require additional wooded setbacks from I-64
  right of way
• Work with neighboring jurisdictions and regional
  planning entities to ensure that transportation
  improvements benefit all jurisdictions

Public Facilities Goals

• Set aside funding in the CIP for land acquisition
  for waterfront park development
• Develop comprehensive site master plans and
  construction drawings for all county parks
• Consider constructing a gymnasium or other
  appropriate recreation space at New Kent Primary
  School
• Acquire land near villages to meet future school
  construction needs based on estimated population
  build-out
