    sustainability into many campus programs and

In An Octopuss Garden
  • The Bowdoin Organic Garden
  • located on 2 plots, one at Crystal Spring Farm,
    and the other on campus at South and Coffin Sts.

    vegetable crops and 15 different herbs
  • wide range of produce fennel, kale, 6 varieties
    of lettuce, jalapenos, thyme, zinnias
  • funded by their Housing and Dining by paying a
    management position and student workers

    fertilize the soil

    and seedlings

    insecticidal soap, crop rotation and companion
    planting with naturally repellent plants

    salvaged and resold, and volunteers collect,
    clean, and sell donations. food go to the
    Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program.
