Key Findings Challenges and Control

• Users access patterns are presenting increasing
  levels of difficulty
• 92 say users are requiring greater access to the
  network at different times
• 93 say that the network is increasingly having
  to manage users with multiple Ids/profiles
• 87 say these changes are placing new demands on
  the network
• The areas where these IT professionals have the
  greatest concern with regards to control are
• Non-standard applications - 45 not satisfied
  with control
• Non-user IP devices (printers, cameras etc) with
  41 not satisfied .
• Growth in unauthorized applications has gone up
  by about 13 in the past 2 years

• The greatest areas of growth are increases in
• Approved business applications
• Number of applications supported by the network
• Smart/mobile devices
• Remote working employees
• Over next two years, 55 of US companies
  expecting greater growth, and 44 of UK
• The largest growers are also more likely to
  increase the pace of LAN growth
• However only 42 of businesses have sufficient
  investment for IT to support their business goals
  
• 37 say that staffing levels have increased to
  support LAN growth
