Chain of Command
4
Sim Center Philosophy
  • Simulation CAN NOT replace field training.
  • Simulation is the Walk Phase of training.
  • It supplements and enhances by allowing practice
of basic techniques prior to going to the field
    (i.e. working the bugs out).
  • If Simulation can not offer
  • Cheaper (less/fewer beans, bullets, band-aids)
  • Faster (conduct more training sessions per unit
    time)
  • Better (reduce risk)
  • training, then it shouldnt be done!

5

DVTE Combined Arms Network (CAN)
  • Training Applications
  • Individual and FiST Supporting Arms Training
  • 9 Line procedures (6 Line with used to simulate
    AC130 training)
  • Familiarization with the different fire support
    equipment
  • Urban CAS
  • Company Level Fire Support Teams (FiST)
  • Great for refresher training for those Marines
who are rusty on their call for fire skills or
for supporting team building and effectiveness of
    the FiST

19
Virtual Combat Convoy Trainer (VCCT)

  • Training Applications
  • For Marines who plan or participate in convoy
    operations
  • Teaches command and control, as well as, verbal
    coordination between convoy vehicles during

23
Exercise Design and Planning
  • Live-Virtual-Constructive Interface
  • Integrating Live, Virtual, and Constructive
    forces into ONE blended environment
  • Large Scale Exercise Planning Support
  • Offering expertise to the planning effort to
develop the next USMC large scale exercise
  • iCAX (Whatever follows Mojave Viper)

24
Product Testing Evaluation Role

  • Training and Education Command (TECOM)
  • Project Manager for Training Systems (PMTRASYS)
  • Joint National Training Center (JNTC)

25
Scheduling
  • Scheduling can be done by phone in a few minutes.
  • Information we will need includes
  • Your Unit name,
  • Type of training you desire,
  • Number of personnel to be trained,
  • Dates and times desired,
  • POC (generally the OIC for the training group)

26
Hours of Operations
  • You name it, almost.
  • Considerations
  • We are strongly supported by contractors.
  • Under certain circumstances, contractors can be
    worked 24/7, butbudgetary considerations.
  • Most are either retired Marines or other Service
military and are very committed to training
    Marines.
  • Hours of Operations are
  • EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE!
