Travel With Me The Project
This is a final project for students learning
Internet Basics.  The student will use internet
resources to simulate planning a business trip. 
The student will make airline reservations, hotel
reservations, and car rental arrangements.  They
will plot the route from the destination airport
to their hotel using one of the internet's
mapping sites.  The student will also use the
internet to select two or three restaurants to
which they can take clients for lunch or dinner. 
They will search the internet for major
attractions and events in their city.  Then just
before they are scheduled to begin the trip, they
will check one of the internet weather sites for
the five-day weather forecast.  This is a
long-term, time sensitive project. Subject

• To learn how to best convert lessons to online
  lesson
• To see some good examples
• To learn some proven techniques
• To become familiar with outcomes required for
  completion of CTAP 295 in order to help other
  CVHS staff

• Learned how to create web pages for a lesson the
  CTAP way
• Information is redundant which makes it very
  difficult to make changes

• Project was more fun for students online
• Students used the internet for a real world
  problem

• The younger students found the project
  overwhelming
• Procrastinators failed some students do not
  know how to manage their time
• Some students were distracted by other
  interesting things on the internet and spent more
  time than necessary completing the project

• Added a pre/post test

Travel With Me -- Summary
This is wonderful project for high school
students. It takes them beyond their normal
range of teen Web pages into the real world.
They learn a lot about the city they are
traveling to, how airlines work, car rentals,
restaurants, and how much all this costs!
