Introduction

• The Application Portal can be found at the
  following address http//kentauros.rtd.algo.com.g
  r8080/jetspeed/
• An introductory screen appears with a short text
  on the CrossGrid Project and its applications
• Username and password are requested from the user
  if user is new ? creation of new account
• As soon as the user is logged in, a number of
  inactive portlets are loaded in the Portal

Retrieval of credentials

• The first portlet on top of the screen is the
  Proxy Manager portlet
• It has the key role of activating all other
  portlets for the specific user
• It can be used in conjunction with any MyProxy
  server in the CrossGrid testbed
• The user retrieves the proxy certificate from the
  MyProxy repository

Job Submission portlet

• After the successful retrieval of credentials,
  the user can submit any job to the Grid via the
  Job Submission portlet
• The various parameters and text boxes are
  thoroughly explained
• There are many details both inside the portlet
  area and in the tutorial document for the correct
  submission of a job

Job Get Output portlet

• This is used for the retrieval of the output
  files after the execution of a job
• Once a job is submitted the user can try to
  retrieve the output files
• Unless the status becomes Done (Finished) there
  will be no output files created
• When its Done (Finished) the output files are
  shown in the portlet area as HTML links
