Introduction
Rationale Children with disabilities have
limited gross motor skills and developing these
muscles can be challenging. A childs health and
happiness is important regardless of mental and
physical capabilities. Purpose/Goal To create a
fun alternative to physical therapy by creating
an obstacle course perfectly suited to the needs
of the child with disabilities. The obstacle
course will not only improve gross motor skills,
encourage decision-making, foster a sense of
independence, but will also be a safe, fun
environment that ensures the success and
happiness of the participant.
The Obstacles
Each obstacle is designed to target gross motor
skills through isokinetic movement of the major
muscles.
