Biography
  • Picasso was born in Malaga Spain on October 25,
    1881.
  • He was the son of a famous artist and art
    teacher.
  • At fourteen he passed the entrance exam for the
    Barcelona School of the Arts (La Lonja)
  • In a span of 75 years, Picasso Created thousands
    of prints and paintings.

Blue Period
  • The Blue Period was the time in Picassos life
    where every thing was
  • suffused in blue.
  • Began shortly after he moved to Paris, after his
    friend Casagemas committed suicide
  • The Blue Period ran from 1901 to 1905

Rose Period
  • This was the Period from 1905 to 1906 in which
    his work began to get less depressing with
    happier colors.
  • Picasso's first work in the rose period was
    with clowns which would appear in his paintings

Cubism The Beginning
  • Began in late 1906
  • Was considered revolutionary
  • Picasso was inspired by Cézannes flat depiction

  • Worked with his friend Georges Braque
  • Cubism is the style of art where one takes apart

    an abstract way

    reconstructed again abstractedly.

  • The Synthetic Cubism movement started in 1912.
  • Very abstract
  • Started at the end of thee Analytical Cubism
    movement

Between the Two Wars
  • Between World War One and World War Two Picasso
    Painted a mass of paintings.
  • His works expressed the public shock at the
    technological horror of World War One.
  • After the war, Picasso turned back to his
    classical style of representing his art while
    simultaneously continuing his Cubism Movement.

  • It is a famous piece from the Blue Period
  • It was made in 1903 and is Oil on Panel
  • It currently hangs in Paris, France
