Step 1- Photography
  • Artists will come up with a head or bust shot
    that portrays your personality.
  • Tonight think about what you are going to do and
    come prepared tomorrow with this step.

Step 2- Photoshop
  • Artists will take their Photo and upload it in
    Photoshop where they will change the photo in two
    ways
  • Contrast- Your photograph will be ONLY black and
    white (no grays)
  • Grid- We will then put a grid on top of your
    photo to help us with the next step

Step 3- You Decide
  • Choice 1 India Ink Self-portrait
  • Choice 2 You Cube Printmaking

Choice 1- India Ink Self-Portrait
  • You will grid out a 18x24 piece of paper
  • Using your photo you will lightly draw in each
    square of the grid
  • Fill in the BLACKS with india ink to create a
    high contrast expressive self-portrait

Choice 2- Printmaking
  • Take 6x6 piece of linoleum and transfer your
    photo
  • Choose if you want to carve out the blacks or
    carve out the whites. Difference?
  • Next, You will make 6 prints from your master
    copy and form them in a cube

  • Journal a paragraph in your Art Research Notebook
    (ARN) about your personality.
  • Then answer at least one of the following
  • What mood would your friends say you are
    typically in? How can you show this mood in a
    photo?
  • How can you creatively express yourself through a
    photograph.
  • GOAL For the viewer of the photograph to be able
    to describe your mood or personality just by
    looking at the photo.
