What is Transmission Art Education?

• Research-action programme for practising artists
• examining ways of increasing mobility and
  employability of performing artists
• Partnership of art organisations, training
  institutions, individual artists and networks
  across Europe

• Arts do have a real contribution to make to
  matters of social inclusion
• Growing opportunities for employment in arts in
  the social realm
• Artists need more than pure performance or
  creative skills

• Does initial art training today prepare the young
  people for the working conditions of tomorrow?
• What kind of responses are European training
  institutions and trainign programmes making to
  the rapidly changing landscape of working
  patterns of todays artists?
• What does this mean for European cultural
  actions, for education, for employment, for
  European policy?

• develop a model of transnational training

• MA in Cross Sectoral and Community Arts at
  Goldsmith College, London University
• Pilot trainings in Austria, Finland, Ireland,
  Poland and the Netherlands
• Depth of knowledge of the cahnging role that the
  arts are playing in the wider community
