your product, Snapshot. It prevented a possible
system crash on our AS/400 in Singapore over the
weekend.Late on Friday afternoon, I noticed
that the disk usage had jumped from an extremely
steady 60 to 75 in the past 8 hours and it
looked as if that trend would continue. Urgent
e-mails caused Ian Mitchell to check the spool
files for the Protean user -"The reason for the
rapid consumption of the disk space is there have
been alot of files written by the 'Integration"
User of Protean. Protean is running on an NT box
but access's the AS400 to extract and write data.
For some unknown reason this was writing bigger
and bigger spool files. There were dozens if not
100's of reports over a 1000 pages long on NT01
spool file."Ten minutes later, disk usage was
back to 60. Had it not been for the Snapshot
display, this problem would not have been
detected until..... Snapshot - a great
