• Motorcycle training (BRC, ERC, Sport Bike Course,
  training bikes and simulators)
• Driver Improvement Instruction
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
• SECNAV asked for schedule and cost breakdown of
  the recommended COA vs. alternate COAs
• Continue with your new Sport Bike Training Course
• SECNAV pushing for decision at the earliest
  opportunity time is of the essence

CMC PMV Tasking

• Produce an ALMAR on seatbelt usage and motorcycle
  safety
• Hold Marines accountable in Line of Duty
  determinations
• Hold Marines accountable under the UCMJ
• Require Marines to report the purchase of a
  motorcycle within 48 hours of that purchase in
  order to get them training. Punishable via UCMJ
• Produce a poster that outlines three examples of
  Marines who survived a PMV mishap (seriously
  injured) and were found not in the line of duty

  of engine failure. No fatalities

  nacelle fire on short final landing.
• 13 Feb 08 (HMM-365, 24th MEU) AV-8B was destroyed
  as a result of an engine failure. No fatalities

  motorcycle mishap when a delivery truck pulled
  out in front of him.
• 03 Feb 08 (1st MARDIV4th MAR/1st BN) LCPL was
  ejected from his vehicle during a single
  automobile mishap.
• 31 Jan 08 (SOIE/MCT) SGT lost his life in a
  single motor vehicle accident.
• 28 Jan 08 (SOIE/MCT) PVT was on leave when he
  lost control of his vehicle, striking a tree.

  their lives in a single motor vehicle accident.
• 21 Oct 07 (TBS QUANTICO) 2NDLT was killed on MCB
  QUANTICO in a single vehicle mishap.
• 21 Oct 07 (MCAS/HMT-302) LCPL was speeding on his
  motorcycle when he failed to make a turn and
  struck a sign post.
• 20 Oct 07 (VMFAT-101) 2 ADAAs died after their
  vehicle was struck head on by a civilian drunk
  driver.

  motorcycle when he lost control and hit a pole.
• 16 Oct 07 (MCRD/4th RTBN) PVT died in an
  automobile accident.

  into the back of an SUV and was ejected into the
  backseat.

  motorcycle when he lost control hitting a
  guardrail.

• 20 Jan 08 (MCAGCC/3/7 KILO CO.) LCPL died as a
  result of a gun shot wound.
• 19 Jan 08 (1st MLG/CLB-13/CLR-17) CPL found
  unconscious at friends house after a night of
  drinking.
• 20 Dec 07 (2nd MARDIV/2nd ASLT AMPHIB BN) CPL
  died from asphyxiation.
• 02 Nov 07 (HMX-1) SGT died in four-wheeler
  accident.
