-In Turkeys 3.809 Vocational and Technical
High Schools 1.047.131 students are having
education . - This number is equal to 34,47 of
the total number of high school students . - The
aim is to increase the ratio into65 .

  • As it is understood from the previous page,
    30,668 students are having education in 42
    Vocational and Technical Schools in Kocaeli
    Province.The ratio of the students who are having
    Vocational and Technical Education in the total
    number of Secondary education is 45,28 .
  • This ratio is not only highly above the Turkeys
    average but also is very close to the
    expectations of our country in that field which
    is 65 .

  • Students who are continuing their education at
    Vocational Schools get 3 days skill education in
    establishments and 2 days theoretical education
    at their schools .
  • Students who are in Vocational Education Centres
    get 4 or 5 days skill education in establishments
    and 1 day theoretical education at school.

VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS (2004- 2005)
- The ratio of Vocatioanal High Schools among
the universities is about 28,98 .This ratio is
above 30 in developed countries. - The total
number of students in Vocational High Schools in
Kocaeli University is 18.514 and it forms 48
of the total number of the students in the
university and it is above the countrys level
. - Aproximately 83 of the students of
Vocational High Schools are graduated from
Vocational or Technical High Schools and 17 of
the students are graduated from general schools .

Education gain importance and restructure
itself in the whole world parallel to
technological and social developments .

market. In order to get benefit from the work
force efficently is only possible by
effective,comprehensive training consepts.

Having young dynamic human power in Turkey,
our aim is to evaluate this potential by
educating the individuals according to the needs
of period and make them adopt the needs of work
life, Another aim is to make the Vocational
and Technical Education programmes answer the
needs of work life and the changing demands of
the region through international standards .

  • To increase continuously the quality and
    efficency of Education and Training,
  • To ease the transition between the Education
    and the Training systems ,
  • To give education by large base programmes
    which are leaned to Ability,Curiosity,Skill .,
  • To activate the use of technology in education
    and how to use individual education methods and
    materials
  • are aimed .

    ( Strengthening The Vocational
    Education and Training System ) which is also
    supported by European Commission are

  • To improve trade standarts ,
  • To prepare Modular pragrammes ,
  • To establish lifelong education policy,
  • To improve the Quality guarantee system

  • The total amount of the budget of SVET project
    is
  • 58,2 million
    Euro.
  • 51 million Euro of this budget is supplied by
    European Union,
  • and 7,2 million Euro is supplied by the
    Government of Turkish Republic.
  • SVET Project is applied to 30 Cities and 105
    Vocational and Technical Institutions in Turkey,
  • and in Kocaeli 5 Vocational Education
    Institution have been choosen as Model
    Institution .
