Outcomes
"ITI has approached it from a user perspective,
involving relevant Ashoka staff members to give
feedback along the process. I think this will
ensure the system adds value to everyone it
effects." Silvia Giovannoni, Global Program
Director, Ashoka Support Network, UK " We
have become much more efficient and professional
and are able to manage the knowledge in the team
much better. The more I work with it, the more I
like the new Salesforce " Oda Heister, Venture
Director, Germany "I think it will be a good
step to normalize the processes and get us all
thinking on the same page. The Salesforce tool is
enabling us to work much more closely as a team "
Kenny Clewett, Venture Staff, Spain "I
thought the process was extremely well run and
the implementation is on course to be a big
success." Sebastian McDermott, Venture Staff,
UK This is fundamentally transformative.

building an inclusive green economy strong enough
to lift all boats
22
Who is Green For All?
  • Founded by Van Jones, formerly of Oaklands Ella
Baker Center and Sustainable South Bronxs Majora
Carter, Green For All has a simple but ambitious
mission to help build an inclusive green economy
strong enough to lift millions of people in the
United States out of poverty and into prosperity.

23
What do we do?
  • We are uniquely focused on the nexus of civil
    rights, environmental health and sustainability,
urban renewal, and green economics. We envision
local, state and national commitments to job
    creation, training, and entrepreneurial
opportunities in an emerging green economy
    especially for people from disadvantaged
    communities.

24
  • Simply put by creating green pathways out
  • of poverty, Green For All battles
  • poverty and pollution at the same time.

25
Conservation
  • Indigenous Peoples
  • First Wave
  • Conservation
  • John Muir, Henry David Thoreau, Theodore et al.

26
Regulation
  • 1963 Rachel Carsons Silent Spring
  • Conservation and regulation
  • Environmental Justice community
  • Equal regulation
  • Not in My Backyard

27
Investment
  • Third Wave
  • Conservation, regulation, and INVESTMENT
  • This keeps neighborhoods clean and allows for
    growth.

28
Eco-Apartheid?
  • There is danger of Eco-Apartheid where who can
afford it will not be exposed to pollution and
will benefit from investments in green
    technologyavoiding Eco-Apartheid means ensuring
that the people who were locked out of a
pollution-based economy will be locked into a
    solution-based one.

29
What is a Green-Collar Job?
  • A Green-Collar job is basically a Blue-Collar
Job that has been upgraded to better respect the
environment. Green Jobs include, but are not
limited to jobs in energy efficiency and
    alternative energy sources
  • Solar Panel Installation
  • Green Construction
  • Energy Efficiency Retrofitting
  • Rooftop Gardening
  • Materials Recycling

Drill Here, Drill Now?
  • It has been proven that drilling Americas oil
reserves, both onshore and offshore, would only
reduce the price of gas by 1.3 percent in ten
    years!
  • In two years the U.S. could create two million
new jobs and be on our way to fueling our cars
and appliances with electricity from a clean
energy grid that costs around 1 for the
equivalent of a gallon. One dollar!
