BASIC CHARACTERISTICS

• Basic roof covering provides protection for the
  underlayment from both man and nature.
• Roof selection depends upon matching the climate
  conditions and physical demands of the roof with
  the appropriate roofing material.

• Usually has a very slight pitch for runoff
• Difficult option in some regions based on weather

• Simplest type of roof
• Similar to a flat but with a larger pitch

• 2 sloping surfaces
• Most common in residential construction
