• Characters are made up setting and plot may be
  based on real events.
• Details and dates are true to history.
• Commonly stories about war and historical events.
• Bud not buddy is one example.

Folk Tale/Fairy Tale

• Characters,setting,
• and plot are made up.
• An exaggeration of a historical figure.
• May explain historical events or wise tales.
• Usually about a particular character.
• Like Cinderella

• Myths, Fables, Legends.
• Orally passed down and later written.
• A good example is The Legend Of The Blue Bonnet.

  is about. Like the biography of Abraham Lincoln.

• Like a book on flowers.
