Line Test 1
2Suggested way to do Test 1
Young dogs puppies or junior dogs You can do Gun
1 as a single the other guns should cover up.
Then do Gun 2 and Gun 3 as a double use Gun
Three as memory bird. Make sure you take bumpers
in the field so you can double throw the memory
bird. Remember you training not testing. Then do
Gun 4 as a double hand throw one yourself for a
cold double.
Dogs past junior or maybe derby age. Have Gun 2
and Gun 4 cover up. Do a double with Gun1 and Gun
3 as a double. If you are not sure your dog Is
not going to do this DONT TEST, TEACH. Throw a
bumper silently before you send for the memory
bird. Then do a second double with Guns 2 and
Gun 4. these marks are tight it will not hurt to
teach. Again throw a Second bumper on the memory
bird.
Master dogs maybe do Quad Do the quad cold but
remember this is a difficult set of marks. It
might not hurt to throw a second bumper to help
the dogs memory.
Open Amateur Dogs Do a single and retire it
on gun 1 with all Guns exposed. By doing this you
get the dog to look long, If your dog does not
watch the long bird they can mark it. Then do a
triple Gun 3, Gun 2 and then Gun 4 Retire Gun 2
and Gun 4. This allows you to work on Shorter
retired gun with lead out bird. Flash Gun 2
before sending and then re-throw Gun 4. The
idea is to teach short retired guns.
Good Old Fashion Singles Dont ever be afraid
to do singles. Also consider when doing triples
and quads do some singles, This is maintenance
for head swinging. If your dog has correction
there are times when you need To let be
successful.
Dont be afraid to change your came plan if
things are going good. Do not be afraid to
simplify. If you start to have trouble
immediately simplify
