Title: HETE-2 Mission Status:

2Last HUG meeting The HUG noted that there has
been little progress making HETE data products
available in standard FITS format accessible
using software familiar to the community. For
GRBS, multicolor lightcurves are available in
FITS, and this is probably sufficient.
However, for the coded mask data, potentially
useful for monitoring bright Galactic sources,
there is no standard format or documented
software. The HUG appreciates that the HETE2
team has no funding to support such development
activities, and the HEASARC does not have
personnel to dedicate to the task. If the
HETE2 team and HEASARC cannot get additional
funding for this task, the HUG urges the HEASARC
to consider some intermediate solution where
processed lightcurves and/or spectra for selected
sources could be archived in FITS.
3- Developments since last HUG
- IPP archive at HEASARC current through Feb 04
- Proprietary restrictions are removed - data
immediately public - Tools to split out Science data from telemetry
(non FITS) for all instruments - continued FITS conversion of HETE GRB
lightcurves - new BROWSE table HETEGRB
- allows access to HETE-2 GRB lightcurves from
BROWSE - links directly from table entries to MIT HETE
page for each burst)
4- MIT Developments since last HUG
- ASCII multicolor lightcurves for FREGATE A (7-40
keV), B (7-80 keV), C (30-400 keV) bands - color-color plots of FREGATE data (C/A vs. B/A)
for source ids - cutoff power-law spectral fits for high s/n
FREGATE burst spectra - plus skymaps
5- (Still) In Progress
- Production of WXM standard products for archive,
including - documentation of processing steps
- definition of FITS formats (coordinate w/ SWIFT,
INTEGRAL where applicable) - creation of FITS lightcurves and spectra
- Incorporation of standard FREGATE spectra and
responses for all bursts - Incorporate SXC data
