  • 25 minutes east of Bracebridge, Ontario (1½ hours
    north of Toronto)
  • Situated on 300 acres on Clear Lake with
    additional waterfront on Saw Lake

OUR PHILOSOPHY
  • Wenonah celebrates a traditional camping
    approach. We place value on community, personal
    development, and respect for the natural world.

ARRIVAL DEPARTURE
  • From 2 days, 1 night to 5 days 4 nights.
  • Arrival prior to lunch on first day
  • Bag lunch first day
  • No Nut Policy
  • Tours and community meeting upon arrival
  • Departure just after lunch on final day

FIRST DAY MIXER ACTIVITIES
  • Ice Breakers and mixers prior to the start of
    instructional activities.
  • Introduces students to members in the rotation
    group they are traveling around to their
    activities in

STAFF
  • OVERALL LEADERSHIP
  • Simon Wells (Director, The Camp Wenonah
    Centre for Outdoor Education Associate Director,
    Camp Wenonah)
  • Simon has the overall responsibility for all
    program and service relating to the Outdoor
    Education experience. A graduate of the
    University of Dalhousie (BA, Psychology) and the
    University of New Brunswick (B.Ed), Simon has an
    extensive background in outdoor education and
    camping. He has also taught at St. Paul's school
    in London, England and has a strong teaching
    background in many camping and outdoor education
    program areas.
  • Simon has worked with Camp Wenonah for nine
    seasons and has also been a staff member with
    Camp Kawartha (Peterborough, ON), Camp
    Couchiching (Orillia, ON) and the Kinark Outdoor
    Centre (Minden, ON). A popular workshop leader,
    Simon has led training events for the Ontario
    Camping Association, the City of Vaughn, Brampton
    Parks and Recreation and has been a featured
    facilitator at numerous provincial camping and
    recreational conferences.

STAFF
  • OUTDOOR CENTRE STAFF
  • The Camp Wenonah Centre for Outdoor Education
    staff is comprised of teachers, outdoor
    educators, University and College graduates and
    students. The Wenonah staff are hired for their
    ability to provide strong, positive role models
    for the students in their care.
  • All staff attend a one week training program at
    the start of the Outdoor Education Centre season
    plus, attend specific skill training events on a
    yearly basis. As well, all staff have current
    related qualifications in first aid, CPR and
    swimming standards.
  • Finally, all Outdoor Education Centre staff
    assume Senior roles during the Summer Camp season
    which ensures a deep commitment to the Wenonah
    experience.
  • Wenonah staff are responsible for all aspects of
    the program from sunrise until sundown. This
    includes leadership, instruction, and general
    supervision.

BOOKING INFORMATION
  • Cost per student 64 per night plus 9 tax
  • Teachers and supervisors stay for free
  • Contact Burlington Office for a booking contract
  • Space considered booked upon return of booking
    contract and 300 deposit
