persons outside of the Club staff who have access

authorised staff of that broking firm will also

all users and for this reason the Club does not
issue group or corporate user IDs. Only personal

10Renewal Online
- Members and their brokers can accessing their
renewal documentation via the Clubs Renewal
Online facility within the Members Area of this
website. - Members can interactively compile copies of their
Loss Record. These onscreen reports can be
interrogated for claims details. Ship Report
provides a fleet listing specifying key details
of each ship including entry status, period of
cover and premium. The Terms Summary provides a
listing of the specific clauses, terms and
deductibles applicable for each ship in the
fleet. - These documents can be compiled as a pdf file
which can be read within Adobe Acrobat on screen.
Such files can be saved to your own computer and
copied to other colleagues or printed off as a
hard copy.
11Renewal Online
- This service complements the Clubs ClaimsTrac
service which provides powerful analysis and
reporting on a Members claims history. The
complete claims record can be downloaded as data
for local analysis by Members on a spreadsheet.
Alternatively, specific reports can be downloaded
providing detail on the most recently updated
claims records, claims performance of individual
ships or policy years. - The combination of these flexible and immediate
online services provides powerful tool for
Members to review in some detail the relevant
information necessary to progress the forthcoming
renewal of their entry with the Club. - The Club no longer automatically mails paper
copies of renewal documentation to Members so
Renewal Online is the essential route into
reviewing the renewal information.

16Loss Prevention
- Loss prevention has been a core service provided
to our Members since the first bi-annual edition
of Carefully to Carry - the Clubs advice on
the safe stowage and carriage of cargo - was
published in 1961. - A full-time loss prevention team researches other
issues providing technical and operational advice
to Members. - They focus on avoiding incidents and the
corresponding financial, and possibly human loss
that can occur. - The dramatic increase in seaborne trade and the
innovation of new cargoes and new methods of
carriage has created a corresponding volume and
diversity of risk. The Loss Prevention team is
continually researching and reporting on such
potential risk areas as the carriage of LNG and
hazardous cargo in containers.
17Benefits for registered Members
- Members who register to use the Members Area of
this website benefit from access to the
restricted areas of the Clubs loss prevention
section of the site. This includes- - Global search facility enabling all areas and
documents to be searched - Loss prevention FAQ a database of previous
Member queries and answers - Benchmarking comparison of Members ship
performance against the Club fleet - People claims area personal injury, illness and
other issues in a specialist area - Technical Bulletins technical insights from the
ship inspection team - Dangerous Goods presentations extensive expert
information on the safe preparation, loading and
carriage of hazardous cargoes. - Members can download and reproduce the Clubs
loss prevention material themselves from pdf
files held in this area. New material can be
quickly and efficiently distributed to ships
officers and crew, operational departments and
other key staff.

18Encyclopaedias of information
- The breadth of the Clubs activities for Members
brings it into contact with a diverse range of
experts and information resources. - The Club endeavours to capture as much of this
information as possible and build a body of
intelligence and experience to guide future
response to Member claims and other issues. - Much of this experience informs the loss
prevention activities of the Club, but a great
deal of its acquired knowledge affects broader
issues such as the law, environmental issues,
commercial and insurance practice. - Access to these Encyclopaedias is available to
registered Members via the Members Area of this
website. - Notice of updates to these encyclopaedias is
regularly provided on the login page of the
Members Area and via the Latest Updates email
bulletin
19Miller Encyclopaedias
- The Club Encyclopaedia is divided into six main
areas - Business Finance
- Cargo Stowage
- Insurance
- Law
- The World
- Transport.
- Recent updates have ranged from an in-depth
review of the threats posed by international
piracy to the legal implications of escalating
hostilities in the eastern Mediterranean - A search facility is available enabling topics to
be researched across all six sections.
20Environmental Encyclopaedia
- The Environmental Encyclopaedia is a specialist
database which manages the Clubs knowledge of
purely environmental issues in a similar format
to the main Miller Encyclopaedia. - The Clubs Legal Director Dr Chao Wu is a
leading world authority on pollution liability
and manages the Environmental Encyclopaedia as
editor. - The Environmental Encyclopaedia sub-divided into
four sections - International Conventions Organisations
- Oil Spill Cases
- US Environmental Law Regulations
- World Pollution Information
- A search facility is available enabling topics to
be researched across all four sections.

21Directors Meetings
- This area provides summary reports of Board
meetings held since 2001. These are not the
formal Minutes but are intended to inform Members
of the progress made on key issues under
discussion at the Board meeting. - Simply click on the relevant location as a link
to the report for that meeting.

22Quality Feedback
- The club managers' offices are certified to ISO
90012000 standard. This incorporates a
requirement that the company constantly monitors
feedback from its customers on its product and
services. - Feedback from Members and suppliers is monitored
via an electronic database to allow better
analysis and management of improvements in the
levels of service. - Example The innovation of electronic
documentation being made available via the
Members Area relates back to a Member in Asia
Pacific being concerned about possible delays
provision of the required Blue Cards as they are
issued from the London office.
23Member Survey Reports
- The quality and feedback area provides
information on the Clubs Member Survey reports. - In 2002 the UK PI Club carried out its third
Member Survey. The previous surveys took place in
1992 and 1996. - The Club Directors commissioned an independent
agency, Research International, to carry out the
survey and analyse the results. They reported
the results of the survey to the Board at their
meeting in Hamburg in July of that year. - The full report to the Members is published in
the Quality Feedback area as a pdf document.
